Reisverslag Week 1
10 juli 2014
The next day, Tuesday I decided to wake up early and walked down the streets to the Brighton Pier. Where I had a drink and walked on to the Brighton Wheel. On Google I've seen a picture with the Brighton wheel on the end of the picture in-between the houses, which I found interesting. I decided to walk towards that road and took the same, but a little bit different, picture. Then I continued to walk towards the Lanes and visited some shops like Lush, Reiss and Kurt Geiger. When I walked down the lanes I passed by the Royal Pavilion and decided to go in there, because I'd like to see a little bit more history of Brighton. I really liked the Royal Pavilion because on the outside it has an Indian atmosphere while on the inside you'll find a Chinese atmosphere. When I got out of the Royal Pavilion I slowly walked back to the Residence to change clothes and get ready for class. The first class was really cool. I have a really nice teacher, called Rosie, and almost all classmates have a different nationality. There are only two pairs that have the same language. The people in my class are: Sandra and Ajda (Slovenia), Paola, Anna and Exue (Spain), Emil (Czech republic) Joao (Brazil), Eylul (Turkey), Sabina (Russia), Friederike (Germany) and me from the Netherlands. When class was over, I asked Friederike, Joao and Ellis to come to the beach to watch the football came with each other. Friederike invited her friend also from Germany, Joao invited his brother and me and Ellis were also together. It was really fun to watch the football game at the beach with lots of different people from Brighton and all kind of nationalities.
On Wednesday I had been sleeping till 9.15 and decided to relax a bit. I skyped with my mom and talked about what I did on Tuesday. Since Ellis has morning class we decided to meet up at 12.05 and lunch and discover the city together. We walked down the Lanes and I bought a longboard, which I wanted to buy for a long time. Then we walked down to the boulevard, where I tried to skate on my longboard. Me and Ellis had a big laugh, since in the first couple of minutes I had no balance at all. After 20 minutes trying and practicing I could finally skate down the boulevard to the Brighton Pier. In the afternoon I had class again, where we talked about our own countries and a 'special' city which we needed to explain and promote to all the other classmates. In the evening Holland had to play against Argentina and so we, again, watched the game at the beach with a couple of people from class.
Today, Thursday, I again slept till 9.15 and had a very relaxing morning in which I cleaned my room and skyped with my mom. Again at 12.10 I met with Ellis at the front of the school to go down to the boulevard to eat lunch and do something fun. We had Crepes with Nutella for lunch in front of the Brighton pier and got our crepe stolen by a seagle. That is an one time experience, and you'll never eat a crepe at the beach again (ha-ha). When we finished our lunch we decided to go to Sea-Life, in which we saw a lot of special coloured fishes, turtles, sharks, and stingray. In the afternoon I had class again and we had to find information about the history, landmarks, famous people and to do's of Brighton as a preparation for the visit to the Brighton museum tomorrow (Friday). After class I met with Ellis to go shopping in the city and ate dinner at Churchill Square. When we finished our shopping and dinner, we decided to sit down on the beach since the weather was quite nice (sunshine, 18 degrees, and a little breeze). We sat down there from 8 till 9.50 and watched the sunset.
This was my summary of this week so far and I'll keep you guys updated!

Geniet ervan meid, grauwe R'falster tút!
